A classic Chinese garden entrance in Suzhou, the legendary city of gardens. Focusing the landscape like the frame of a painting, the moon gate is set off by traditional white stucco walls, tile roofs (with protective talismans at the ends), and overhanging upturned eaves to ward off evil spirits, believed to travel only in straight lines.
